Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Structural
Engineering (JKLSE) is authorized in September, 2005 and
dependent on Suzhou University of Science and Technology.
There is a group of members with high scientific research
level, consisting of 11 professors and 9 associate
professors. Among all members, 13 personnel have Doctor’s
degree, 4 personnel are able to enroll PhD candidates, and
13 personnel are able to enroll postgraduates for Master
In the field of disaster prevention and reduction, some
advancing research projects have been studied in the lab,
including the hysteretic behavior, failure principle and
seismic design strategy of steel structures, numerical
simulation of fluctuation and engineering practice, fire
resisting behavior of composite structures, and structural
seismic testing. These have been full of achievements,
formed unique research characteristic, and have some effect
on the academic communities in China.
In recent years, more than150 academic papers have been
published, among which 90 academic papers have been
published in core periodicals at home and aboard and
international conferences and 30 academic papers have been
included in SCI, EI and ISTP. Many achievements have been
rewarded by different administrations.
Total area of the lab is 3600m2, among which
2480m2 is used to be research offices, 800m2
is used to be structural testing hall, 160m2
is used to be fire resisting testing lab, and 260m2
is used to be manufacturing field of structural specimens.
